Anthroposophy Social is an online learning, research and social platform to support our capacities as wakeful collaborators towards a healthy future. We’ll explore how we can work together to face unprecedented challenges and opportunities on all fronts – including how to work more consciously with online technology to support more engaged in-person gatherings and projects. Through this platform we support a living, collaborative community dedicated to walking the path of Anthroposophy and carrying forward the work of Rudolf Steiner.

Whether you’re new to Anthroposophy or a seasoned practitioner, our times call for our willingness (a full spectrum of perspectives are needed) as we Gather together, Collaborate creatively, and Initiate a healthier future for all.

Fostering a Collaborative Culture

For over a decade, we’ve studied what can make the use of online spaces truly supportive and generative. We’ve also mapped many of the risks and temptations that magnify in online interactions and can share recommendations for managing and restoring ourselves in relation to these tools. Here are some of the orientations we encourage: 

• Connect Conscientiously: We encourage everyone to slow down, take time to be thoughtful, patient with yourself and others. Even when something can seem in opposition, it can often be an essential wakeup from a radically different perspective. Recognizing the striving of others extends beyond what we experience online and when appreciated and vulnerable we can bring out the best in each other. 
• Strive to experience the realities of Soul and Spirit: We begin with the truth that the spiritual realm is real and directly experienceable. That these experiences arise in the soul or inner life of each individual leads us into shared inquiry. Through a careful co-creation of a coherent imagination, we build up confidence in which of these inner experiences are universal and which are personal. 
• Collaborate Rather than Compete: This platform aims to work beyond debates about what’s more or less anthroposophical or “what Steiner said.” A diversity of perspectives is needed to reach anything like a unified truth; and then we can strive to understand what is healthy or unhealthy for the world today – bringing Anthroposophy to Life.
• Bridge to Real Community: Online tools can never replace in-person connection or engagement with the Anthroposophical Society, the Goetheanum, or even the Anthroposophical Movement. But used responsibly these tools can be a bridge to facilitate those connections. The practices, processes and shared research on this platform offer a way for its members to wake up to one another and the movement to “wake up” to itself. We can all use support to meet the denial of the soul and spirit in our world today.

We encourage all participants to join the local anthroposophical group or branch closest to you, if possible. Groups and branches are the social hubs for the work of Anthroposophy in an area. Your involvement locally will be fertile soil to practice the skills you develop on this platform. If you choose to join, you’ll be able to use this platform to seek and connect with members closest to you, who’re active in your area.
